The Sweetness Of ‘Ukhwah’
My praise to Allah for giving me the chance to live, to experience the ‘tarbiyah’ that HE had planned for me...Alhamdulillah...I was able to breath, to carry out my duties to HIM, and being able to write a post..
However, today, unlike any other day, I would like to share with you the GIFT that Allah had given me...the gift that I would cherish until the end of my breath..the gift of ‘UKHWAH’.
Before that, I would like to ask you a few questions...(feel free to read and answer them)
Have you ever feel like lost and your friend support you and give help in whichever way they could?
Have you ever come back in the middle of night and your friend willingly come and fetch you?
Have you ever woke up (after coming back from a camp/program), and around you are your friends, falling asleep together with you?
Does your friend willing to sacrifice their food and money for you?
Does your friend willing to defend you in front of other people/teacher/lecturers if they know you are not at fault?
With a feeling of happy and proud..I would say YES to the entire question above.
Ever since I came to the campus, entering PIAH ( a surau in my campus), get myself involved with it, my whole life changed dramatically..(exaggerated a little bit..(^_’). There, becoming the AJK in PIAH, widen my acquaintance; I got to know some new friends and seniors that contribute to who I have become today.( My praise to Allah, for giving me the chance to experience the friendship, the brand new Ukhwah. ) Being friends with my seniors and new friends from PIAH is different as we become friends with AQIDAH as our ‘landasan’, Islam as our goal.
When you become friends because of Allah, you will love them because of Allah and Allah would help to ensure the bind of ‘UKHWAH’. That is because when you are in need of them, they would not disappoint you. They will help show you the way when you are in lost, support and give you advice to direct you to Allah. They would also care and worried about you when you came back in the middle of night, that they are willing to sacrifice their sleep and rest to fetch you. They also would not complain feeling tired when you are working together as your goal is the same which is ISLAM.
When you have set your heart to be friends with someone because of ALLAH, with one Aqidah, insya’Allah ..Allah would treasure the UKHWAH. (That is what WE ALL HOPED for..(^^).
Wallahualam..
Hopefully you will find the sweetness of ukhwah that I’m talking about..(^_^)

Senyuman & Ketegasan Rasulullah s.a.w

(Hadis diriwayatkan Ibnu Hibban)
Seorang lagi sahabat Rasulullah SAW, Abdullah bin Al-Harist menyatakan:
“
Imam al-Khataby ketika mensyarahkan hadis itu berkata;

'The Fruit Seller'
In the name of Allah, Rabbul Izzati

Situation
The fruit seller : Assalammualaikum...
Customer : Waalaikummusalam
The fruit seller : Would you like to buy some fruits?”
Customer : Ermm.....
The fruit seller : “May I suggest the BANANAS”
Customer : “But..I never taste it before, is it tasty?”
The fruit seller : “ Yes..it is. You won’t regret it. Bananas have lots of nutrition. It also good for your health”
Customer : I don’t think I like it. Do you have other choices?
The fruit seller : Well, you won’t know until you try it. Try and have a look. The colour of the fruit –yellowish, already tells you that the fruit is fresh.
Customer : I don't know.. I'm still searching for the ones that suits me(taste)
The fruit seller : Well..how about you buy some to try it first, who knows, maybe you would come to love the fruits.
The customer : I think you're right. Ok..I'll buy some of the bananas.
This story tells about the fruit seller whom is trying to sell his fruit, specifically, the bananas since he planted it. The fruit seller promotes the bananas exclusively leaving out the rest of the fruits. The customer, does not have clear view of the real situation is , started being influenced by the fruit seller. Later, the customer bought the bananas although she desires for different fruit.
Resolution:
The fruit seller should not do that instead they should tell the customer the uniqueness of each of the fruits and let the customer pick out the fruits that suits their taste. The fruit seller should gives the information-of all the fruits, without being biased and give the customer the chance to make their own decision.
As for the customer, she should be firm on her feet (decision) to not buy the bananas and choose her favourite fruits. Or at least, she could try and have a look at different fruits that the fruit seller sells. This implies on all of us. We should try to be a smart customer. We have to be careful and be sure not to make any hush decision, take times to analyse the pros and cons of the fruits. (whether you like it or not, or whether it suits you taste).
In a nutshell, the story above tells the everyday life situation that we have to face in our life. It doesn't have to be the fruit seller. The other situations that you might encounter ; you wanted to choose the course that you want to take or choosing your life partner...or you have to make a decision that will affect your entire life. The situation might be different but the resolution remains the same.
Therefore,as a 'Customer', we need to be able to analyse the situation, think critically and then make a wise decision. The most important thing is,to make sure that we doesn't judge or choose anything that against the principles of Islam and our own will. If we are not sure of something, we could always seek advice and consultation from other person (more knowledgeable and trustable)
Wallahualam.

Teacher...Teacher...
Assalammualaikum Warahmatullah
In the name of Allah, the MOST GRACIOUS and LOVING
“Assalammualaikum teacher...”
“Teacher..teacher...”
The sound of those timid, innocent greetings early in the morning really made my day...
There is nothing that can replace the joy of being called ‘teacher’ by ‘your’ own students. Fortunately, I got to experience all that when I was doing my School Based Experience (SBE). I chose my primary school to do my SBE and it was the best experience I had so far. I spent 5 days in the school as a trainee teacher, observing, went to classes and participating in the events held. Those experiences really mean the world for me.
Stepping my foot there after 8 years as a trainee teacher, not as a student really make a big difference. When I walked in and met my former teacher for the first time in 8 years, they hugged me and said how they were very proud of me and that made me felt delighted and content inside.
I feel very thankful to Allah S.W.T for giving me the chance to be what I am today. I am what I am now because of Allah, my prophet Muhammad, my parents and my teachers.
However, there are some things that I started to notice while doing my SBE. It happened when I was observing the classes. When it was time for English lesson, the teacher who practices Islam excluded Islam in their lesson. There are lots of practices and activities carried out in the subject (influenced by the Western culture) do not synchronize with Islamic practices...
Why is this so?
Nowadays, there are lots of people sees English as one form of entertainment. When they heard the word ‘English’, the dancing, singing, and seeking pleasure are the pictures they had in mind. Totally contradict with Islam. People often misunderstood that the English or any other subjects/knowledge they learn in their lives is not linked with Islam. They exclude Islam when learning other subjects except for Islamic Education whereas in reality, every subject/ knowledge is actually related to Islam.
Islam is not only focused on Islamic Education. People have to know and understand that one of the elements in Islam is ‘syumuliah’ – (total, covering the whole aspect). Whether it is Science, Mathematics, or even Arts, the concept of learning those subjects remain the same, grounded on Islam.
For example, if one learns science ( according to the text books)- reproduction, one would know the process of man’s creation in a scientific way. Whereas, in Al- Quran, Allah has stated the creation of man, far before the human discover about it.
“O mankind! If ye have a doubt about the Recreation (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a chewed-like lump of flesh, formed and unformed, in order that We may manifest (Our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term.” (22: 5)
Allah knows best! One could not break up Islam from any other aspects. Therefore, learning English (although it came from Western) or any other subjects (seeking knowledge) is not wrong as long as it grounded on Islam.
However, I felt some kind of disappointment when I saw the lessons-the way it was conducted. I remembered back when I was in form 4 and form 5, my English teacher did not separate Islam’s elements in her teaching. The way that she dressed herself, covered her ‘aurat’ completely, and the way she conducted her class, following the principles of Islam really captivated me. She always preserved the interactions in class, the relationship/ the contact between boys and girls. In fact, she was one of the reasons, I became attracted to the language.
She made me believe that ‘ it does not matter the language or the subject you learn, it is the way you learned the subject (inserting Islamic principles)and practiced it that counts’.
